Tajihi no Hironari (多治比廣成)

TAJIHI no Hironari (date of birth unknown - May 22, 739) is a court noble from the Asuka Period through until the Nara Period. He is the fifth child of udaijin (minister of the right), Shonii (Senior Second Rank), TAJIHI no Shima. He is Jusani (Junior Third Rank), Chunagon (Middle Counselor), Sangi (councilor), Minbukyo (Minister of Popular Affairs).

Career

On February 11, 708 or January 11 on the old calendar, Hironari, who was Jurokuinojo (Junior Sixth Rank, Upper Grade), was appointed to Jugoinoge (Junior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade) by Empress Genmei.

On April 12, 608 or March 13 on the old calendar, he was appointed to Shimotsuke no kuni no kami (the governor of Shimotsuke Province).

On March 4, 712 or January 19 on the old calendar, Hironari was appointed to Jugoinojo (Junior Fifth Rank, Upper Grade).

On January 10, 715 or November 26, 714 on the old calendar, Hironari was appointed to vice-shogun.

On February 23, 717 or January 4 on the old calendar, Hironari was appointed to Shogoinoge (Senior Fifth Rank, Lower Grade).

On August 7, 719 or July 13 on the old calendar, Hironari, who was Echizen no kuni no kami (Governor of Echizen Province), was appointed to the first Azechi (inspector of the provincial government), and took control of Noto Province, Ecchu Province, and Echigo Province as well as Echizen Province.

On January 11, 720, Hironari was appointed to Shogoinojo (Senior Fifth Rank, Upper Grade).

On March 25, 724 or February 22 on the old calendar, he was appointed to Jushiinoge (Junior Forth Rank, Lower Grade).

On March 13, 731 or January 27 on the old calendar, he was appointed to Junior Fourth Rank, Upper Grade.

On September 14, 732 or August 17 on the old calendar, Hironari was assigned to Kento-shi (Japanese envoy to Tang Dynasty China). NAKATOMI no Nashiro was appointed to a assistant of Japanese envoy to Tang Dynasty China as well.

On March 26, 733 on the old calendar, Hiroari was granted an audience with Emperor Shomu and received a sword before departing to Tang (China).

On December 23, 734 or November 20 on the old calendar, Hironari returned from Tang and arrived back to the Tanegashima Island.

On April 11, 735 or March 10 on the old calendar, Hironari came back from Tang and returned the sword.

On May 23, 735 or April 23 on the old calendar, he was appointed to Shoshiinojo (Senior Fourth Rank Upper Grade).

On September 21, 737 or August 19 on the old calendar, he was assigned to Sangi (councilor).

On October 30, 737 or September 28 on the old calendar, he was appointed to Chunagon (middle counselor) and Jusanmi (Junior Third Rank).

On February 23, 738 or January 26 on the old calendar, he came to assume Minbukyo (Minister of Popular Affairs) in addition to the above posts.

On May 22, 739 or April 7 on the old calendar, Hironari passed away.
